Starred – The Greatest Hits of Everything, Ever
Postman says: “It’s the ultimate shuffle playlist! I’ve been building it for over 5 years now, and it’s become a monster. Often, I’ll put this on while I’m working, and won’t skip a song for hours and hours. It spans decades, genres, messages- but every song’s got ‘it’, whatever that means. Enjoy!”
Postman says: “Did you like ‘Starred’? This is streamlined! It’s just the cream of the crop, the BEST of the greatest hits! They’re the songs closest to my heart, and the ones that inform my style and my decision making the most. This one’s a real special treat. Shuffle recommended.”
Mr. Classic’s Final House Party
Postman says: “Mr. Classic’s Saturday Night House Party on 98.5 WNCX was a classic. This is the playlist from his final broadcast on August 4th, 2018. I wish I could add his raspy voice shouting, “House Party- Saturday Night!” But alas, the music alone serves as a fine time capsule back to this enigmatic DJ’s final night on the air.”
Your Top Songs 2018
Postman says: “While not a perfect reflection of what I listened to in 2018, this automatically-generated playlist does reveal some of the different directions I was exploring sonically during this time.”
I Know How To Fight
Postman says: “I needed an uplifting, positive shuffler to pump me up while I was running with my dog, Sadie. It’s an ongoing project, but it’s already proven pretty effective.”
Daylight / Nightlight
Postman says: “I became an uncle to a rad nephew a few years ago. It was Abraham’s first birthday, and I decided to gift him his very first mix CD! It’s a 2-disc collection. Disc one, Daylight, is upbeat and summery- designed for Mom to play in the car. Disc two, Nightlight, is just the opposite, developed with bedtime in mind, to lull Abe into sweet dreams while he’s counting Mareep. They should serve the same purposes for listeners of all ages. These ones are meant to be listened to in sequence- don’t hit shuffle this time!”
Billboard Top 100 1968
Postman says: “Fifty years ago, 1968 was a game-changing year in history. Political assassinations, tension in Korea and Vietnam, the introduction of the 747, new explorations in the Civil rights movement and the Space Race, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ and ‘The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test’ and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ and ‘The White Album’ and ‘Electric Ladyland’ and ‘Odessey and Oracle’ and “heavy metal thunder”- it was one of the most interesting and terrifying times in the history of civilization. This playlist captures what the airwaves sounded like through all of the madness and ecstasy.”
Postman says: “It should be no secret by now: I’m fostering a growing obsession with mid-noughties emo and pop-punk music. I’ve even considered running a radio station to explore the genre further. This playlist was made as preparation for that. Wanna judge me? Well, ‘I don’t care what you think, as long as it’s about me!'”
